In Bucharest, some of the most beautiful places cannot be seen from the street. Sera Eden is located at 37 C.A. Rosetti Street, in the historic garden of Casa Brătienilor. The restaurant was created around the property’s former greenhouse, preserving the connection between the architecture of the old house and the surrounding greenery.
The garden does not reveal itself immediately from the street. Beyond the entrance, tables appear among trees and plants, arranged around the transparent structure of the greenhouse. The centre of Bucharest remains close, but the noise of its busy boulevards feels much farther away.
The internationally inspired menu is suitable for both lunch and dinner, complemented by cocktails and seasonal drinks. Sera Eden is a lovely choice for a meal for two, a gathering with friends or dinner at the end of a day spent exploring the city.
Of the two Rezident locations, Sera Eden is closer to Rezident Bălcescu, although it can also be easily included in a walk from Rezident Eminescu. The route takes you through the Grădina Icoanei area and along the streets lined with old houses between Piața Romană and C.A. Rosetti Street.
Grădina Povernei, a hidden courtyard in central Bucharest
Grădina Povernei is located at 22 Povernei Street, between Piața Romană and Piața Victoriei. The restaurant occupies an old house, with indoor rooms inspired by the four seasons and a leafy garden tucked away from the street.
While Sera Eden stands out through the architecture of its former greenhouse and its spectacular setting, Grădina Povernei has the more intimate atmosphere of an old Bucharest home. The courtyard is equally suited to a quiet lunch or a dinner that continues late into the evening.
The menu includes appetisers, salads, pasta, risotto, pizza, fish, seafood and meat dishes, as well as desserts. Its variety makes it a good choice for families or groups of friends when everyone is in the mood for something different.
Grădina Povernei is closer to Rezident Eminescu and can be discovered during a walk towards Piața Victoriei, along the quiet streets surrounding Piața Romană. From Rezident Bălcescu, it can be reached on foot by continuing through the city centre or with a short drive.
